Amber Alert Canceled for 12 Year Old Virginia Girl

The State of Virginia canceled the Amber Alert Friday afternoon (12-10) after the girl was found safe in California and the suspect taken into custody. They were found in the San Francisco Bay area. No further information is available at this time.

The State of Virginia issued the Amber Alert Monday (12-6) after the girl's mother was found murdered in the family home in Salem. The girl was last seen on Thursday December 2nd.

Brittany Mae Smith, a white female, 12 years old, 5', 100 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

The suspect is Jeffrey Scott Easley, a white male, 32 years old, 5' 11", 265 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

There are two possible suspect vehicles. A Red 2000 Chevrolet SUV with Virginia tag XPR-4366. The mother's vehicle is also missing. It is a Silver 2005 Dodge 4 door sedan with Virginia tag number XKF2365
